No accounts, no profiles
TradeGreen has no user accounts. Nothing on the site asks for your name or any personal details, and we don't build profiles of visitors. The one exception is the early-access waitlist, where you can choose to give us your email — that's described below, and you never have to use it to read anything here.
If you join the waitlist
If you enter your email on our early-access page, we store exactly that: the address, the date, which link brought you (Instagram, TikTok, X, or direct), and your browser's user-agent string so we can spot bot signups. We don't store your IP address with it, we don't buy or add anything else about you, and we don't share or sell the list. We'll use it for one thing: telling you when TradeGreen opens up, plus the occasional note about what we're building. There's no confirmation email yet, so if you want off the list before we send anything, email us and we'll delete the row.
What we do collect
Beyond that, three things. First, standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) that our hosting provider keeps for a limited time to operate and secure the service — this is true of practically every website. Second, if you use the “report inaccuracy” button, we store the report itself (which item you flagged and the reason you typed) so we can review it. Don't put personal information in a report. Third, anonymous usage analytics (via PostHog): which pages are visited and which features get used — for example that a search happened (never what you typed), which chart timeframes get clicked, whether the “why it's moving” scores are being seen, and that a waitlist signup happened (the fact of it and which platform sent you — never the address itself). This is tied to a random ID in your browser's local storage — not a cookie, and not your name. Your waitlist email, if you gave us one, is never attached to it. We use this for one thing: to understand which features are worth keeping and improving.
What we don't do
No advertising networks, no selling or sharing of data, no cross-site tracking cookies, no session recording, and analytics never captures what you type. Analytics events go to our own domain first, not directly to a third party's tracker address. Market data on the page is fetched by our own servers from data providers — your browser talks to TradeGreen, not to them. One exception: article thumbnails on the News page load directly from the news source's servers (we tell your browser not to send them a referrer, but like any image on the web, that host sees the request).
If this changes
If we add features that need more data (for example, saved watchlists with accounts), this policy will be updated first and the effective date above will change. We'll never quietly start collecting more than what's written here.
